This started as My Cats. Since I love to write poetry thought I would change it up a bit.

Golden Eyes
Dreams came and went the first night Kat was in the hospital. She went from one dream to the next, one stood out though, a tall man with dark hair. It seemed like he was talking with her about a house, one that she was looking to buy. Was he somehow tied to the night before? Kate's mind was racing with so many questions and the reason why. All of a sudden she woke up with a start, she was drenched in sweat. She glanced out the hospital room window and could of sworn she seen those golden eyes peering into the darkness. How could that be? She thought the nurse said she was on the tenth floor? Then she decided maybe it was the pain medicine causing her to hallucinate. Again she slept, this time her dream was of the tiger striped tabby, he appeared much larger than the normal housecat. He was purring really loud as if almost a rumble, he reached out to her with a gentle paw. It was almost like he was telling her it was going to be alright. She was positive he was somehow connected to what had happened to her last night, but how? The next thing she knew it was 5:00 am in the morning, she heard the nurses in the hallway changing their shifts. They whispered about her and how she was brought in last night, no reports of what had happened.

Kat had not even a clue to how she must look. She was hooked up to oxygen, and a IV was dripping slowly into her arm. She hadn't even realized the bruising on her face and the scratches on both arms. Needless to say her leg was wrapped in a cast, it still was throbbing. Her long blonde locks were tangled, and extra care would need to be taken when brushing it. Detective O'Shea was pleasantly looking at her waiting for her reply.
With quivering lips, Kat began to speak. "Let me first say Detective O'Shea that I can't recall much of what happened last night. It is just a cloud of hazy gray." Oddly enough she again found herself thinking of those Golden eyes piercing into her thoughts. The detective looked at her with a mix of puzzlement or disbelief, she could not be sure which. Again he spoke, Ms Oliver you were brought into Mercy North's emergency room last night with a gash protruding from your left leg and a severe bump on the back of your head." "Can you think of anything that might help us to find out who did this to you?" She found herself shaking her head no, for right now she was just wanting to sleep and that was what she did. Dreams came to her so sharp and vivid, alive with color. There the big grey tabbed tomcat was watching her breathing, then he jumped away just as she had reached out to pet him in gratitude.

Golden Eyes
The dull throb in her leg was beginning to cry out in agony. In fact it seemed to go from her ankle all the way up to her knee. She glanced down to see a gash penetrating up the side of her left leg. Golden eyes held his steadfast gaze at her. What was the strange noise he was making? All at once his ears perked up, he was gone in a slit second.
Again, she knew she needed help; she screamed with all her might could muster. With her voice cracking, she again passed out from the pain. The next thing she remembered was awakening to familiar faces and the bright white lights of a hospital room. Smells of familiarity now filled her lungs.
Nurse Megan the name badge said; leaned over her and smiled; "Good morning, I am here to get your vitals" Kat blinked and then managed a hoarse "Okay" Her throat felt like it was on fire. A memory from the night before flashed before her eyes. What intrigued her more though was those glassy Golden eyes.
She heard a tapping on the door and then a slightly overweight, well dressed, well groomed older man entered into the room. In a very professional tone he began by saying "Hello, my name is Detective Matt O'Shea." "I heard you was found in a alley behind Gleeson's Bar & Grill; looks like someone roughed you up pretty good." "Do you recall any of the event's that led up to this"? Kat took in his words and they lingered only minutes, she was again drifting off into a restless sleep.

"Golden Eyes"
Enveloped by the shadows of the fog so thick, and so dark, in the middle of October. The night felt colder than any other night as Kat clung to life. The putrid smell of petroleum from exhaust fumes drilled into her nostrils. Kat felt her leg go numb. What happened to her that night was a blur.
Struggling to reserve her energy she went limp and crumpled on the moist ground. Somewhere in the darkness of the alley, she heard the faintness the sirens screeching.
Kat a 5'7 beautiful blonde woman at 32, she was lean and trim she always struggled to keep her body in shape. She was a nurse at Mercy Hospital. She had many rewards of recognition on her accomplishments as a Triage nurse. Her main goal in life had always been to help those in need of care; and now she was the one in need of that care.
Suddenly she awoke with a startle, trying to stifle back a scare of suprise, a moan escaped her mouth. Looking down at her was a beautiful tiger striped tomcat. It had appeared that he had been licking the tears that had run down her cheeks moments earlier. She blinked her green eyes; fantasied by his golden eyes. Eyes that seemed to bore right into the depths of her soul. He seemed to understand her without words even being spoken. Kat sensed the tom knew she was in severe pain. Her mind was still a hazy shade of grey, but the pain was real.

Where have I been?
Time fly's when you are having fun. LOL I haven't been anywhere, just busy at work and trying to do some soul searching. I done alot of reading, clearing my my head, meditating. As I continue to grow in this journey of life that God meant for me; I believe I am growing spiritually. Last year I had two eye surgeries, one on the left eye and one on the right eye. I have glaucoma and uvetis in both eyes and there is nothing in this world more precious than eyesight. I still see a little bit of fuzziness and what damage that was done by the glaucoma may never have the 20/20 vision I once had. However, I count each day as a blessing and seeing the world, the beauty it offers is just awesome. Each day I thank God for the blessing he has provided for me. Alot of times we take for granted things such as eyesight, having 2 good arms and 2 legs to walk with. So I now I look at life a little bit differently, I smile more often. I find things that will put a smile on my face each and every day. My cats are such a joy to me, oh my how they put many smiles on my face. The antics and shenanigans they do is just marvelous. Beaver is a fun loving cat that is on twitter and facebook, I googled him this morning on cool cats he is number 10 on google search! Such a famous cat he is, he loves everyone and well if he could speak.....I am sure he would run for the presidency. LOL I am going to try and blog more. Love to all.

Wally the Wal-Mart Cat--A Rescue Love Story
It was cloudy, cold, and misting on that fateful night of November in 2004. Me and my husband had went to the Super Center Wal-Mart at Bell Isle to do a little grocery shopping. The wind had picked up and the chill went straight through your body. The parking lot was very crowded as it was the Christmas shopping season. We were winding through the maze of cars, when I heard what I thought was a meowing. I turned to my husband and "said did you hear that"? He shook his head no. Then I heard it again and it was a mewing that sounded urgent. Before I knew it, here comes this poor scrawny kitten that stopped me in my tracks. He had been crying so much he sounded hoarse. He had bounded up to me and my husband. I was in total shock, the poor little guy had a rubber band on his neck which I promptly took off. I was so astounded at the cruelty of someone just leaving him there in that busy parking lot and so was my husband. We put him in our warm car and ran into the store to get a few things. When going back to the car we were careful to open the door slowly. He was sleeping on the seat, and I gently put him on my lap. He purred all the way to our house. I carried him in to inspect him in a good light, I took him to the bathroom and shut the door. To prevent our other cats in scaring him. The first thing I seen was his fur was filthy and he was covered in fleas. First thing I did was to give him a warm bath with a flea killing agent. I could have swore the fleas numbered a thousand, I just gently kept washing him until they were all gone. Then with a warm towel I gently dried his fur, then I brought him some warmed canned food. He was a gorgeous tuxedo kitty, and his fur gleemed after the shampooing. We had 4 other kitty's at the time. We was wondering about keeping him and if he was going to get along with our other kitty's. After thinking it over and knowing he actually chose us that night, our decision was clear. The next day my husband took him to the vet to make sure he was healthy, he did have a cold from the weather and his meower didn't work for a long time after that night. The vet gave us some antibiotics for him and gave him a bill of clean health. My husband asked what we should name him, I said Wally since we found him at Wal-Mart. Wally was so precious as he grew into such a handsome kitty, it looks like a Hershey's kiss was planted on his nose. Well he intergrated with the other kitty's just fine. After awhile a couple years later we got him a baby brother, which he is named Beaver, which actually came from the TV series, Leave it to Beaver. They reminded us how those two brothers was always getting into troube and their funny antics. Wally is different from the other cat's in our household. He is very protective of our home, he goes to the door and if he thinks a stranger is out there he will growl. Every night he makes what we call his patrol, he looks out the front window and will cry for us to open it so he can check things out. Also, his favorite word at night is bedtime. When we say bedtime he will run and jump on the bed. His favorite sleeping spot is on my knees, he uses them as his pillow. Sometimes he will lay down beside me and just purr. Wally is kind of a James Bond cat, he has his tuxedo on all the time and grooms himself as if to show us how handsome he is. He knows he is truly loved in our home, I think he is protective as he knows we rescued him that night.

Awaken O my Soul
Awaken O my soul; Sleeper within me awaken. Have you ever felt that your whole life is like a dream. That this body of flesh is just not yours? What if I would have had different parents or had I been born into a rich family. What really determines the pathes we take in this life? Are we too afraid to live the life we dream of? I am on a journey of my heart to search and find out. I am the apple of God's eye and my heart belong's to Him. This new year is going to be one where I find the treasure that I am searching for. The year that I awaken the sleeper within me. Perhaps it will be in my writing that I find it. Whatever God has for my life I am ready for the challenge and to overcome my fears. I want to soar as the eagle; to catch that thermal wind current and soar high in the sky. The eagle knows no fear, he waits and is patient to catch that current. When he does though; he is the most majestic bird of all. We were also made to be majestic; to live as sons and daughters of the living God. Most of us have lived with fears and failures; this year I take off that cloak of fear. This is the beginning of my journey; I will keep a update of my findings every week. I will be very interested in what I find and how majestic I can be.
